Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana : This scheme is implemented in rural areas by Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company Ltd. (GLPC) and in urban areas by Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GULM).The main objective of this scheme is to create 1 lakh Joint Liability Earning and Saving Groups (JLESG) and make 10 lakh women self-reliant by stimulating joint economic activity through these groups.

Purpose of Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana
Inclusion of women in Joint Liability Earning and Saving Group (JLESG).Through Government Banks, Private Banks, Co-operative Banks and Credit Institutions, the teams will receive Rs. 1.00 lakhs to lend.Providing self employment and livelihood through credit.
Target Beneficiary
- 10 women willing to get credit.
- Women should be 18 to 59 years old
- Priority to widowed abandoned sisters.
- Hayat Juth who has no outstanding loan.
- Target: 1 lakh groups, 10 lakh women and 50 lakh family members
- Among them rural area 50,000 juth and urban area 50,000 juth.
Credit institutions and support
Nationalized Banks, Rural Banks, Cooperative Banks, Private Banks, Co-operative Societies and RBI. Other approved credit institutions.
Financial support to women groups
- Women’s groups: 1 lakh
- Women’s group members: 10 lakhs
- Scale of Assistance: Per Beneficiary Group Rs. Interest subsidy up to 6000/-.
- Loan Amount: Per Group Rs. 1 lakh
- Interest: As per 12%, per annum maximum of Rs. 6,000/-
- Loan Repayment: Monthly Rs. 10000/- per installment of Rs. 1,20,000/-
- Out of which amount Rs. 1,00,000 loan recovery and Rs. 20,000 as savings.
- Waiver in stamp duty: Waiver of stamp duty required for bank loans is to be given.
Features
Under this scheme each group will pay regular installments of Rs. Interest above 1 lakh has been provided to be paid by the government.Under the scheme, 50,000 JLESGs will be covered in rural areas and 50,000 in urban areas. In which the amount of interest is to be paid to the credit institutions by the government on behalf of the women’s group.Nationalized Banks, Gramin Banks, Co-operative Banks, Private Banks, Co-operative Societies and RBI for successful implementation of this scheme. Other recognized credit institutions – MFIs are also to be encouraged by the Govt.
